Black Lightsaber (1.0) - File Description  


Description:
Darth_Spiderpig comes to us today with the elusive black lightsabre, made by a workaround of sorts. The "black" is actually an addon geometry that fits into the gap in the lightsabre where the "black" should be. While this is a creative solution like many workarounds its got its problems (one illustrated in the 4th screenshot below) - that when using sabrethrow or crouching the "black" will remain attached to the hand (which probably rules out having more than one primary weapon with a character using this weapon as well).

For convenience there are two versions, a long and short one. Details on how to set it up are in the readme.

Hey there, thanks for downloading the first working black lightsaber for Star Wars Battlefront II

Included in this pack are two versions, a long and a short bladed version.
This is actually an addon geometry, so you can't give units which already have an addonmesh this saber, you have to decide which one it should have (can't have more than one)

Installation:

To get it working, add this to the unit's odf:

AnimatedAddon = "saber"
GeometryAddon = "spidey_weap_blacksaber_whateversizeyouwantiteithershortorlong:P"
AddonAttachJoint = "hp_weapons"

And change the values in the lightsaber's odf to this:

Long version:
FirePointName = "hp_fire"
LightSaberLength = "1.5"
LightSaberWidth = "0.08"
LightSaberTexture = "blacklightsabre"
LightSaberTrailColor = "255 255 255 128"

Short version:
FirePointName = "hp_fire"
LightSaberLength = "0.7"
LightSaberWidth = "0.08"

Posts: 359 		Making the black part of the weapon geometry would limit hilt choices but cause the blade to follow the hilt when tossing, and also it would allow the unit to have more than one primary weapon without looking strange.
