jdee's First Sides Mod is pretty much as advertised- it is a first mod that focuses on the four main Battlefront 1 sides. Following the general trend these days, it mainly just gives the soldiers overpowered weapons and makes vehicles even more overpowered.

Though this overpowered trend is rather overused, this mod is a bit different. It seems to be focused on souping up the units, but still keeping them balanced, whereas other mods are just about killing everything. For instance, vehicles can kill just about anything, but they are still fairly balanced versus the units. While the mod is full of flying rockets, gigantic laser bolts, and a few lightsabers, it still manages to retain some balance from the original game.

Graphically speaking, the mod uses shipped textures for the units, except for a trooper skin borrowed from the Main Play Mod. Those with weaker systems may want to use this mod in moderation, as there are lots of rockets flying, explosions, and lasers whizzing around each map. This leads to some technical problems, as the game engine can't handle all of these effects all at once. So if your weapons don't work, it's the fault of the engine, not the mod.

To sum it up, this is a typical overpowered sides mod. However, it does retain some balance (a rarity amongst these sorts of mods), and therefore is a bit more enjoyable than others of its genre. Go ahead and download it if you want a little more crazy in your game, or if the screenshots appeal to you.

ESides Mod 0.5 Beta
This is a simple sides mod that wasn't so simple to make. It replaces your rep, imp, all, and cis lvls. ggctuk made a nice Katarn skin that I used on the ARC Trooper.
to install, open a new window in Windows Explorer, navigate to C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars BattlefrontGameDataDataLVL_PCSIDE. Backup your original sides
List of Vehicles
LAAT/i Gunship (much improved)
MAF-2 (5 Seats, serves as a bomber as well)
Y-Wing (used to be a bomber, now a gunship)
TIE Bomber (It's still a bomber, but better armored)

Jedi Starfighter (overpowered)
Vulture Droid Starfighter (fires very powerful missiles)
X-Wing: improved missiles
TIE Fighter (still the same old TIE Fighter)

Cloud Car: used by everybody
Geonosian Starfighter: now uses a beam cannon to attack things
Airspeeder/snowspeeder: same as the shipped one.

AAT: 3 seats. Ultra-Powerful rapid firing laser cannons that can take down an AT-TE very quickly. The MAF also has this. Be Careful, The Heavy Trooper's Missile Launcher is even more powerful and can take down an AAT in two shots and anything that flies in one shot. the turret now holds a beam cannon
Hailfire Tank Droid: better rockets, AAT Turret laser cannon.
Spider Droid: beam cannon, trishot laser cannon.
IFT-X and IFT-T were left to the original one because I thought it was powerful enough for a tank.
Combat Speeder: faster. Hailfire rockets, and Heavy Pulse lasers. the co-pilot operates a rocket launcher
AT-ST: If I am not mistaken, there are two different AT-STs that I found in the sides folder. ATST and ATST_Jungle. The Jungle one has rockets. the regular one hasn't any rockets

AT-AT: 1 shot heavy cannon can destroy anything in 1 shot (except another AT-AT)
AT-TE: weaker weapons, overpowered backside lasers.

Bugs and Issues
It might just be my SWBF copy, but playing on Hoth will cause the game to unexpectedly quit itself on you, So if you are playing in campaign mode, or feel like playing on Hoth, keep a backup of the default sides, or a sides mod like the Main Play Mod, Elite Sides, or Star Fire Side mod.
The Chaingun and SE-14C Blaster pistol (droids) both appear as 0x ingame. I can't do anything about this.
The Chaingun fires weird lasers and may or may not have sound.
You tend to use up missiles very fast
The Bulldog RLR rockets seem to disappear after a short time, but they haven't, the smoke trail disappeared and you might see a dot or miniscule triangular shape for a split second
If you play on a map with this mod (ex. Naboo Encounter 3.2) that has on the droid's sides, a Droid Gunship and AAT on the same map, the clones will get slaughtered unless you happen to be using a mod that makes the clones insanely powerful like (Shadows Clone and Droid Remix, or the All Troops Fly mod).
