Mandalorian Wars Project (2.0) - File Description  


Description:
This mod is Commander_Fett's second iteration on his earlier Mandalorian Wars Project, and this version is, in effect, a retouch of the earlier version and not a huge new content addition.

The author mentions that a concerted effort was made to increase the amount of variation between the two sides, which, in the earlier version of the project, felt a bit lacking. It is noticeable that the author has made an effort to change this, by way of giving the Mandalorian side a more unified color set and by making the weapons for each team a little different (when comparing class-to-class across sides). I'm not sure that it's entirely enough, though, at least not visually. Part of the problem is the fact that both sides are essentially using the same model for all their characters. The stock sides are easy to tell apart, because it's either white-armored troopers against camouflaged, unmasked people, or white-armored troopers against droids. In this case it is simply Jango Fett color scheme "A" versus Jango Fett color scheme "B."

I don't know if that's a limitation that can be clearly addressed with this particular theme. Maybe it might be better if one team ran around without helmets. Maybe it would be better if one team were in clothes instead of armor all the time. I don't know. As it stands, despite the author's efforts, it is still a little tough to tell the teams apart (although, on a positive note, it is easier than last time).

The sides - their weapons, that is - are well-made enough. There's a decent variation of weapons and classes, although they feel a little bit similar side-to-side. I would like it if their special classes felt a little more different, though (their weapons are different, but maybe I'm just rehashing my above complaint about appearance - I don't know).

All in all, it's a well-done mod, just like the previous time. There are lots of new weapons this time around, and it's worth a checking-out. There's still the lingering issue of one side blending into another, but don't let that stop you from giving the mod a try.

Mandalorian Civil War Background: When Jaster Mereel came to power among the Mandalorians, he changed the way Mandalorian society worked. He drafted a guideline for Mandalorian behavior, hoping to purge the old savage, dishonorable raider and mercenary ways. However, some opposed these reforms, and wanted to continue with the old ways and eventually once again try to conquer the galaxy. So, they split from the Mandalorians, and created the Deathwatch, lead by Vizsla. They waged war on the Mandalorians, and the Mandalorian Civil War began.

Plans for this project: This will be a project that adds the Mandalorian Wars era to all stock maps, and will also add many new maps that follow the Mandalorian Civil War and Mandalorian Wars as canonically as possible while still making the maps enjoyable.

Instalation: double click the .exe, and install to the C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars Battlefront IIGameData directory.
Uninstalation: Just delete the MWP folder from your addon folder.

Important: You MUST have the Unofficial 1.3 patch installed for this mod to work.

It's a lot of fun, and i like how its a separate era and not something you need to overwtite your .lvl files to play. My only complaint is, like Mav's, that both sides look quite similar unless you are up close. It might be better if the Death Watch (btw this is 2 words, not 1 like it is when you choose a side, but i dont know if you can use 2 words) had a few pieces of clothing over their armor, enough to be noticeable, so you can tell them from Jaster's Mandos, but you still want to see armor to make is canonical. All in all, it's a lot of fun. Can't wait for the next version!

Very cool.But weapons should be a little more customized and different between the 2.Because it feels like no matter which team you play as,your practically playing as the same team.

It is not there. I got the other thing you need for it to work and it is like it is just not there. The maps are not there the era is not there it is like it is not there.

jedimasterdarth,you either have too many mods,or MWP isn't in Addon.Here's what I do.Instead of extracting it directly to your Addon folder,extract it to your Desktop,then copy and paste it in your Addon folder.That's how I always do it.But when i extract it to Addon directly,it doesn't show up.

while i agree with them somewhat dont take it to far there weapons should be alot alike and there armor should be alot alike remeber the death watch was mando's that split off so it is really one group fighting its self they just heve different idea's so they should be alot alike.

Hi i downloaded this mod and its one of the best mods i downloaded thanks for making it i play it nonstop (when i have the time) and have shown it to several of my friends they loved it to and downloaded it as well thanks for making this mod one thing though in the update could you please make it so that every mando/death watch unit has a jet pack on every map, and make the death watch have different colors for there unit so that its easyer to tell them apart but if able please dont change the colers for the mandos they currently look awsome also mabye make some extra units for both side to add would be absoulotly awsome not to sure on what else you could do for units but it would be pretty cool also my friends also said that they would download the update with me if had some/all of those thanks a buntch you rock man

hello

i have this patch but the mod will not function
i have bf x-trem rising conflict and dark times rising son bot your mod will not function at my game pls help
