Salucemi: Battleground (1.0) - File Description  

This map, by Kill_Joy8, is a first map. It's fairly middle-of-the-road as far as first maps go - definitely some issues, but not a poor start.

It's supposed to be set on Saleucami, one of several planets featured for about three seconds in Episode III that have since gotten lots of attention. It's like a grimy Felucia, basically (although they share equal weight in the "movie-significance club").

This map takes a decent stab at the setting, although it has been done before with more proficiency. What gets me most here is the fact that the map is so very clearly the default munged map, while at the same time being relatively well-decorated. The periphery of the map is completely unchanged from the stock munged map, the sky is the same, and the command posts are in the same starting four locations. The map would be a lot better if this weren't a constant reminder of that default starting point!

The sides are fine, although they owe the majority of their polish to the various talented modelers or texture artists who made them. I'll almost always appreciate new sides the author has put a lot of effort into doing (mostly) himself - even if they're not as high quality - than new sides cobbled together from various downloadable assets.

There are a number of issues with the sides in terms of icon placements or other small bugs; I won't get too picky, though, as these are things the author will learn as he gets more experienced. All in all, it's a decent first stab at a map. Next time, don't remind me so much of the default munged map!

As you should all know, (unless this is your first time instaling a mod) it's pretty simple]

-unzip the file and place the ASK folder in your Addon folder in game data, if you don't have an addon
folder, make one

The DP¨-23 rifle (which is really a shotgun): RogueKnight for the model, Deviss for the convertion.
For the Neimodian: yes that's icemember who made it.
For the EMP, grenade, are you sure? Skyhammer_216 made one and 666rulerofclones also made one.

Before changing any sides, it would be MUCH better to first concentrate on the map itself...

Overall this map had decent terrain but I did find a few parts that could have been blended and smoothed out. The sides were good but since there was almost on cover in the map, it really didnt matter. For a first map though this is ppretty good, you still have to make som chages in the future but good job. I look forward to Salucemi 2.0!smile 6.5/10Two Thumbs Up!

It should all be in the readme,
but you just need to extract the file with the 3 letter name (ASK in theis case)
to: Cstick out tonguerogram FilesLucasArtsStar Wars Battlefront IIGameDataaddon
then your maps should work
