Fireflywater comes to us today with this side mod for the original Battlefront, entitled simply "Tactical Cache". This is a mod for all four basic sides, encompassing a wealth of weapon changes for the original game.

Basically all four sides have been majorly edited, with most of the weapons being redone and grossly powered up. For example, most of the rifles now shoot extremely fast and have little to no recoil. The sheer mass of new weapons makes it hard to go over each one, but there are some really cool ones in here - a lot of them automatically track or use physics in ways I haven't seen in the original Battlefront. There are little to no visual changes or changes to anything else other than the units and their weapons, but this is more than enough to keep things interesting.

Really, the only issues are the localization, which is a hard thing to do for global side mods, and maybe some Hoth crashing issues (but this is widespread across many mods). In short, this is a pretty excellent first mod release, with some interesting weapons that will certainly give a little more spice to the game. This is not online-compatible, though, so all other players will need to have the mod. Give it a download if you're looking for a fun mod to play around with.

	Readme File: Tactical Cache - By Fireflywater ----------Intro Hello, and thank you for downloading this mod, this .txt will tell you a minor briefing about the mod, installation, bugs, feedback, and credits. If one wants to use contents of this mod, well, I'm very anal about plagiarism. You do NOT have permission to use this mod or direct parts of this mod to be used for another mod without proper permission. ----------Briefing This mod, dubbed "Tactical Cache", adds some weapons to this game. Each weapon is different compared to the standard weapons. Some edits are minor, some are major. If there's a weapon named "0x" then it is a new or edited weapon. However, some classes don't have a good amount of new items. I will really, really love feedback. ----------Installation In this .zip you will see 4 files "all.lvl", "rep.lvl", "cis.lvl", and "imp.lvl". These files are the factions and their objects. First off, go and head to this location (default file location, may be different according to installation process) C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars BattlefrontGameDataData_LVL_PCSIDE Here, there should be 10 files indicating factions, only 4 of those are playable. Find rep.lvl, cis.lvl, imp.lvl and all.lvl, and back them up to somewhere else. They can be used should you want to un-install the mod. By doing so, you don't have to re-install the entire game. Grab the files from the .zip and throw them in there, they should overwrite the files already in. If all is done correctly, you can run the game and enjoy the mods. ----------Bugs This mod isn't perfect. There are several errors. The main one is balance, but that's kinda obligatory. The Hoth level won't run. This is most likely due to the Snowspeeder as that is edited. I checked the snowspeeder itself and didn't see any problems. So it could be the weapons. ----------Feedback As I may forget about Filefront, I have a Steam that I'm always on. Most of the maps ive tried with both eras have crashed the game. confused
