Star destroyers have bigger guns and also out gun the mon Cals... I think. But, I do know that SDs have bigger guns.

I'm not going to get all technical with this one, I'll just go with the Victory Star Destroyer due to more firepower.

In X-Wing Alliance, Mon Cal is way better then a Victory Star Destroyer. Remember, a Victory-Class Star Destroyer is like half the size of a regular Star Destroyer. Mon Cal wins.

A nuke can be packed in a suitcase these days.
A huge bomb of 8000 kilo's pure TNT is massive and huge.

My point: Size doesn't matter.
I'd still go with the mon cal since I played soooooooo (maybe a little to much) much empire at war, try a victory vs mon cal, your victory really doesn't stand a chance.

Wow, Its not a SD guys. Anyone who played Eaw,Foc or X-wing allaince knows what I mean. Victory cruisers have less firepower then Mon calamari....

on the one hand, there are MC80 Home One-Class and MC80 Liberty-Class. first one has 36 turbos and 36 ion cannons, second one has 48 turbos and 20 ion cannons. i'd say the liberty-class has more firepower due to the majority of turbolaser cannons compared to the home one-class. i'll use the liberty-class for my statement.
one the other hand, there are Victory I-Class SD and Victory II-Class SD. first one has 10 quad turbos, 40 dual turbos and 80 concussion missile tubes. second one has 20 quad turbos, 40 dual turbos and 20 ion cannons. i'll use the second one again, because it's the victory from EaW.

the victory has more weapons but the liberty has better shields. the shields are even stronger than ISD shields, so they should be a lot stronger than the shields of victorys. because of this fact i vote for the MC80. (poor little victory... frown )

end of my statement.

btw, @ Mav and/or others who answered to my posts in other polls: i don't want to start a discussion about the two ships and their arming/shielding/whatever, this is why i called this one statement. would be nice if you could respect my wish to prevent a discussion about this, i just want the other people to post their opinions.

Yo In a straight out battle Mon Cal would probably win. However, victory has fighters and BOBMERS! Mon Cal too slow to take out bombers and it dies.

wait, which Victory Class are we talking about here? Victory I class or Victory II Class? Either way i'm going for Mon Cal because Victory Classes are weaker.

It seems people automaticly equat "Star Destroyer" with the big ships you see in the movies. The Victory-Class Star Destroyer (Or Victory-Class Cruiser I think it's sometimes called) is actually way way smaller then the regular Imperial Star Destroyer.

I think Mon Calamari's are easily a match 1 vs 1 with a true ISD, and against the puny "victory" class, 1 or 2, it should easily win.

I'm not really sure to be honest, but I voted for the Victory SD. Not only firepower, hull and shields strengh are important, but the quality of the crew. That means Empire FTW! wink

MCC.

VSDs are good, but they are majorly outclassed by the sheer shields of the MC80... remember that MC80s could hold off ISDs for a while...
